Tortilla and SSP announce expansion of franchise partnership

Tortilla Mexican Grill plc, Europe’s leading fast-casual Mexican restaurant group, today announced a significant expansion of its partnership with global food travel experts SSP Group plc, setting the stage for ambitious growth across UK travel hubs.

The new five-year agreement will see Tortilla’s presence in SSP-operated locations triple in size in the UK, expanding from six to 18 sites. This strategic growth follows the successful launch of Tortilla’s latest airport location in Glasgow’s main departure lounge in September.

The expansion builds on strong performance metrics, with UK franchise locations delivering over 10% sales growth in H1 2024. Tortilla’s highly scalable business model, featuring streamlined kitchen operations and centralised food production, has proven ideal for franchise partnerships, enabling rapid staff training and consistent quality across locations.

Tortilla Appoints Former Le Duff VP as Managing Director in France

Tortilla Mexican Grill plc, Europe’s largest fast-casual Mexican restaurant group, has appointed Eric Wauthier-Wurmser as Managing Director to lead its French business. Eric joins with immediate effect and will serve on the European sub-Board committee.
